The crooks struck in the early hours of Monday morning at Ultimate Hairdressing in Bridgnorth Road, Compton, where they took top of the range GHD straighteners and hair dryers, as well as a laptop, tablet and smart phone.
Two people were seen on CCTV footage approaching the premises and smashing a small window at the side of the salon at 2.20am.
They left the alarm to ring out to see if any police arrived on the scene and returned at around 3.15am, using a large wooden fence post to smash through the main entrance door and take the hairdressing equipment.
The thieves then left the site and returned at 4.55am to take the laptop, phone and tablet, before filling a huge holdall with stock and then calmly walking out, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
The laptop contained the salon's booking diary, which had not been backed up due to a system malfunction.
Devastated boss Sam Yates said: "Gutted isn't the word. I'm absolutely devastated. We were just starting to get established in our new premises. The amount of work that has gone in to building the place up has been immense. We've got to carry on, we've got to earn a living after all.

"They broke a small pane of glass then just left the alarm to ring out.
"We've only been in the building for two months. We've got our CCTV up and running and it caught everything.
"They smashed the door in, there was two of them, they looked like they were in their 20s or early 30s. They were wearing hoods but the footage shows one more clearly.
"Everything they took comes to about £12,000."
Dc Gary Thompson said West Midlands Police was 'still investigating'.
