Police were called to North Street just after 11.25am after 'reports of a man with an alleged firearm'.
West Midlands Police spokesman Kate Baker said: "Armed officers cordoned off the road and shortly after arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
"No one was injured in the incident."
No weapons were immediately found, but officers were searching a property on the residential street this afternoon.
