Wolverhampton murder: Man still being questioned over Whitmore Reans stabbing

One of the men arrested on suspicion of murdering a 23 year old in Wolverhampton remained in police custody today.

Two men were detained on Saturday after the man was stabbed to death in Whitmore Reans.

The older of the two suspects, who are aged 33 and 36, was released on bail yesterday, while the younger man continued to be quizzed by police on Tuesday morning.

The pair of men were detained at different locations in the Whitmore Reans area at midday and 10pm on Saturday after the victim died at 8am.

The 23-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Neighbours spoke of their shock the following day.

Detective Inspector Jim Munro said he believed the assault was 'targeted'.

The victim's identity and cause of death may be released later today.
