JAILED: Kidderminster hit-and-run driver gets six months over man's death
A hit-and-run driver has been jailed for causing the death of a man in Stourport.
Matthew Cullum was discovered on Hillary Road in the early hours of August 29, 2015, after being hit by a Nissan Skyline.
Kamil Jussak, aged 23, of Long Acre, Kidderminster, who has previously pleaded guilty to causing death by driving a vehicle while uninsured and failing to stop after an accident, was jailed for six months at Hereford Crown Court.
Data control operative Mr Cullum, 36, who lived in Stourport, was walking home from Wilden Village Cricket Club when he was hit. Paramedics battled to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jussak was also banned from driving for 15 months.
Following the hearing, Mr Cullum's family said in a statement: "We are satisfied with the result today.
"It was an adequate sentence. No sentence will bring Matt back, however justice has been done today."
Sergeant Lee Baker, from West Mercia Police, said: "Jussak has acknowledged the seriousness of the offences and now he will pay the price for his actions."
