The worker was approached as he was returning to his van in Turnstone Drive, in Featherstone, at around 5.20pm on Wednesday.

A man walked towards him and demanded his van keys, while holding a knife towards him.

The victim surrendered his keys and the offender got in the van, a white Renault Trafic, and drove off.

It is suspected a second suspect was involved as a new-shape dark blue Ford Fiesta was present when the suspect appeared. Both vehicles turned left onto Brookhouse Lane.

The van was found abandoned a short time later in Primrose Avenue in Fordhouses, Wolverhampton.

Four parcels were missing along with the drivers personal mobile phone, an Apple iPhone 6s, and a wallet.

The suspect is described as a white man aged in his 20s, 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a black hooded top, dark jeans, dark shoes and had a black scarf covering his face.

DC Marc Bailey said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed a blue Fiesta acting suspiciously in the area yesterday.

"We suspect this car is linked to the crime due to it being seen in the cul-de-sac at the time of the van being stolen.

"Fortunately, the driver wasn't assaulted or injured but this was a frightening ordeal for him.

"The incident took place at the end of his shift so there weren't many items left on the van but around four packages were taken."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Marc Bailey on 101, quoting incident number 679 of June 8, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
