The victim, 21, was hit over the head with a hammer before being threatened with the weapon by two hooded men in Sedgley.

Detectives believe he was targeted by the pair, and that others may have been involved in planning the attack.

The victim, who had been given the Audemars Piguet watch as a birthday present, was treated in hospital for minor cuts, bruising and swelling and released later the same day.

Dc Stephen Judd-Ingram, from Force CID, said: "This is a shocking and totally unacceptable attack, and we are determined to catch all those responsible.

"It appears that the victim was specifically targeted, and although there were two offenders we believe that a number of other people were involved."]

It happened at around 8.30pm on April 28 in Charles Hayward Drive.

Anyone who knows where the watch is or those responsible should contact the officer at Brierley Hill police station on 101 or email contactus@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk
