Cash and jewellery stolen in raid on pensioner's home
An elderly woman's home was burgled in Kidderminster - with cash and jewellery stolen in a targeted attack.
Police officers from Worcestershire are now appealing for any information that could lead to catching the culprits who struck at the property in Hurcot Road.
It is believed the unknown offender forced entry to the property through the back door.
The victim, a 74-year-old woman, was not at home during the incident so thankfully was not hurt.
A significant quantity of cash and some jewellery was taken.
Detective Sergeant Squires urged residents to keep on their guard and to report anything that could help police identify the offenders and bring them to justice.
He said: "This burglary targeted a vulnerable older woman who was living alone, and we are hoping that someone will be able to help us identify the offender to bring them to justice.
"There is no detail too small - if you think you know something which could be relevant to our investigation, please get in touch.
"Call us on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident reference 447s of Tuesday April 26, or alternatively call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
The incident happened at between 2pm and 4.20pm on April 26 on Hurcott Road.
The burglary is the latest to follow a spate in the Dudley borough over recent weeks, where residents were urged to stay vigilant after police issued a statement.
It came after the report of two burglaries in the Gornal and Coseley area within two days.
It was alleged that two men aged between 25 to 35 with Irish accents were posing as officials from 'the water board'.
The first bogus caller burglary happened on April 19 in Bird Street, Gornal, and the second happened on April 21 in Sangwin Road in Coseley.
