Blerim Tahiraj, aged 24, of Whetstone Close in Edgbaston, was seen acting suspiciously by an eagle-eyed police officer on the evening of November 4 last year.

He was stopped in his silver Mercedes on the Stratford Road.

When his car was searched, officers found a customised compartment in an arm-rest containing £32,000 cash and over one kilo of cocaine.

Tahiraj denied that the car was his.

But at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, he was found guilty of possession of cocaine with intent to supply and concealing criminal property. He was sentenced to seven years six months. Detective sergeant Martin Kelly

said: "There is no place for drug criminality in the West Midlands and we are committed to getting dealers and drugs off our streets."
