Man stabbed in broad daylight as attackers demand money

A man was stabbed during a robbery in broad daylight in Stourport.

The 53-year-old was attacked as he walked along Holly Road on Sunday afternoon.

He was approached by two men shortly after leaving the Bird in Hand pub who demanded he hand over his money.

He suffered a cut to his hand as he tried to protect himself and was then stabbed in the shoulder before the attackers fled the scene.

The victim was spotted by a passer-by, who called an ambulance.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

His injuries were described as serious but are not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information on the crime, which happened between 3pm and 3.30pm, is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101.
