Wheelbarrows, hard hats, wooden planks and plant plots were among the mess left in Hawkswood Drive in Moxley.

And now, councillor Doug James, who represents the Darlaston South ward, has put forward a £50 reward for information that will help catch the perpetrator.

The incident was reported to Walsall Council by a resident via Twitter and has now been dealt with by the council's clean and green services team.

Councillor James said he had been very concerned about the high levels of fly-tipping in the area.

"I am organising a meeting with local agencies to address the ongoing problem of fly-tipping. This has been happening for far too long now in certain areas of Moxley that have been neglected by these agencies.

"A week ago, hawk-eye cameras that have been installed to combat the problem were not even working which i think is an appalling state of affairs.

"Across the borough we are talking in the region of over £100,000 plus a year being spent on fly-tipping but it would be interesting to see how many people are taken to court for the crime and I am sure it is simply not a high enough number. I understand the excuses for cuts and lack of resources but it's not good enough."

Mr James added: "I'd also like to put an appeal out – if anybody saw anything or has any information I'm putting forward a £50 reward of my money.

"I'm putting my money where my mouth is to hopefully catch those behind this incident."
