Rebecca Wall, of Coven was staying at a friend's house on Haling Road, Penkridge on Friday night when the theft took place.

She was woken by a neighbour on Saturday, who asked if she knew her car wheels had been stolen.

The 22-year-old said she thought he was joking but was completely shocked when she saw her yellow car had no tyres.

All four of the car's alloy wheels, believed to be worth more than £1,000, had been removed while she slept.

The car was left with house bricks, which appear to have been used by the thieves to lift the car. The theft took place despite the wheels having lock wheel nuts.

"I could not believe it," she said. "Who goes to the effort to steal wheels?

"I put an appeal on Facebook and a couple of girls from the Stafford area have been in touch telling me they have also had their wheels taken.

"It appears limited edition Corsas are being targeted, apparently there have been two other incidents in Stafford if not more in the past week.

What the stolen wheels look like

"I was woken up on Saturday morning by a knock on the door.

"One of the neighbours was there telling my wheels had been stolen, I genuinely thought he was joking.

"But when I looked I was in shock, who would steal my alloy wheels, who would go to so much effort?

"I just don't understand how they managed to even to do it - I am just in shock.

"If anyone has any information please get in touch with the police."

Miss Wall's car is a 2014 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 limited edition yellow and black model.

Anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 252 of January 09.
