WANTED: Cheque fraud suspect caught on camera in West Bromwich Cash Generator

This man was being sought by police today after a stolen cheque for nearly £700 was cashed in West Bromwich.

The cheque was stolen from a communal entrance to the intended recipient's flat on Kinsey Road, Smethwick.

The victim contacted solicitors to find out why the cheque hadn't been arrived, and they established that it had been cashed at Cash Generator on High Street.

Police say the suspect, caught on camera in the store, used stolen documents linked to the Kinsey Road address as ID.

They included a housing contract and utility bill and are also believed to have been stolen from the communal area.

West Midlands Police said: "We were able to retrieve this image from the store, but could not recover any personal details because the suspect was not required to produce photo ID.

"If anyone can identify this individual or has any information that can assist with the investigation please contact PC Dan Cartwright on 101."

Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
