Sex pest Jack Thomas has now been jailed for 26 months.

A court heard how he would wait outside or at the window of his home in south Staffordshire for the schoolgirl to arrive and make sexual comments to her.

It happened shortly after Thomas was given a suspended jail sentence for sex offences against girls aged between nine and 11 – and banned from having any contact with children.

Thomas, whose address cannot be disclosed, admitted breaching his Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

Stafford Crown Court heard that Thomas had convictions for sex offences dating back to 1956. In 1975 he indecently assaulted a boy, in 1979 at Stafford he had sex with a girl under 16.

Wolverhampton Crown Court sentenced him to two months jail in 1994 for indecently assaulting a girl under 14, then in 2008 for sexual activity with a girl under 13 he was given a three-year community order.

Miss Wendy Miller, prosecuting, said that in July 2013 Thomas approached a group of girls aged between nine and 11. He touched the bottom of one of them, cuddled another and offered them money. For those offences, in September last year, he was given a 16-month jail sentence suspended for two years and banned from contact with children.

When police became involved after the latest incidents, it was discovered that Thomas had installed cctv to cover the front of his home and he had transferred three still images of the papergirl from the video footage on to his mobile phone.
