Three arrested on suspicion of murder after toddler found with fatal injuries
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a toddler was found with fatal injuries.
Two men from Oldbury and Stourport, along with a woman from Birmingham, have all been arrested after the child was found at an address in Birmingham.
Police were called to a property in Beckbury Road, Weoley Castle, at 10am on Saturday morning by ambulance colleagues.
The 18-month-old girl was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital having suffered a suspected cardiac arrest but was pronounced dead a short time later. Her death is being treated as suspicious.
A post-mortem has taken place and the results were inconclusive. Further tests will now be carried out.
A 35-year-old woman from Weoley Castle arrested at the hospital on Saturday remains in custody. Detectives obtained a warrant of further detention this morning.
A 37-year-old man from Stourport in Worcestershire arrested on Sunday morning has been released on bail.
A 34-year-old man from Oldbury arrested at the hospital on Saturday has been released on bail pending further enquiries and will return for more police questioning on a date next month.
