A teenager died today after being found with serious burns to his body at Bescot rail depot
Detectives and forensic teams were at the depot today investigating after the 19-year-old, from Willenhall.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Bescot railway depot at 9pm on Thursday following reports of an injured man at the location.
"On arrival, officers discovered a man with serious burns to his body.
"The man, aged 19 and from the Willenhall area, was treated at the scene by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning.
"Officers have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death, but are currently not treating the incident as suspicious."
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it was called to a railway line near Westmore Way to 'reports of a man who had suffered serious burns'.
"Crews arrived to find a man who was seriously injured and suffered major burns.
"The man received emergency treatment at the scene by medics and was anaesthetised by the trauma doctor.
"He was then transferred by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma Centre for further emergency treatment."
