The suspect, 37, was held at an address in Dace Road, in Wednesfield, and was one of seven people arrested in the Home Office probe.

They are all suspected of arranging and taking part in suspected sham marriages between Pakistani 'grooms' and Czech 'brides', and have been held on suspicion of conspiracy to facilitate illegal immigration.

The weddings all took place at Manchester, Bury, Halifax and Shrewsbury Register offices between February and August 2013.

Other suspects were held in Manchester and Halifax.

Sham marriages involve non-European nationals marrying someone from the European Economic Area to win the right to live, work and claim benefits in the country.
