Sandwell PCSO accused of computer misuse

A police community support officer has appeared in court charged with passing on intelligence taken from force computers to friends.

Andrew Thompson, a PCSO for the Sandwell area, is accused of misconduct in public office.

The 43-year-old, of Charter Road, Tipton, was arrested on October 17 last year.

He appeared at Cannock Magistrates Court on Friday with three others who are charged with conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office. They were Barry Parkes and Marie Parkes, both of Weston Drive, Tipton, along with Brian Baker, of HMP Birmingham in Winson Green.

No pleas were taken.

All four were committed to Stafford Crown Court for the next hearing on March 7.

No application for bail was made for Baker. The others were granted bail.
