Gunmen in huge Sandwell jewellery heist attack teenager and uncle
Gunmen stole a van carrying hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of gold jewellery and cash after attacking a teenager and his uncle with crowbars and pepper spray.
The victims, aged 45 and 16, were attacked by three men as they pulled onto the drive of their Warley home in the van
One of the attackers, armed with a double barrelled shotgun, threatened to shoot the uncle unless he handed over the keys to the van.
The pair were repeatedly hit them leaving them with serious injuries.
The thieves then drove off towards Manor Road with the van, emptying the contents into a red Volvo V40 on Heathfield Close before driving off.
The V40, which had been stolen from a burglary in Warwickshire in November, was later found burned out on a car park in Rowley Regis.
The ordeal happened on January 11, but police only released details today as they published a CCTV image of a suspect.
Lisa Shepherd, from Sandwell's Acquisitive Crime Team, said: "This was a truly horrifying ordeal that left two people with serious injuries.
"I believe that this was a planned and well thought out attack and we are appealing for anyone who saw the Volvo before or after the robbery to come forward.
"The thieves were masked up but one image from the CCTV clearly shows a suspect's face and we would really like to hear from anyone who recognises this man.
"People can call me or one of my team on 101. If you don't want to speak to the police direct you can call Crimestoppers the independent charity anonymously on 0800 555 111."
