Three bailed on Great Barr abduction charge

Three men who were arrested on suspicion of attempted abduction after a schoolgirl was approached at a bus stop have been bailed.

The three men, aged 22, 27 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of attempted abduction, while driving a white van in Sterndale Road, Great Barr, by officers last Thursday.

Police swooped after two calls from members of the public. One of the calls came from a teacher at Perry Beeches School, who claimed the Ford Transit had been 'cruising' the area last Wednesday.

A second call was made by a witness who saw the van stop at a bus stop at the junction of Hamstead Road and Newton Road where a teenage girl was said to have been waiting. All three men have now been bailed until February 14.

Police are continuing to investigate the reports and if Anyone with has any information or concerns they are is urged to contact their local policing team on 101.
