Thomas Cotterill, aged 20, of Oaklands Green, Bilston, West Midlands, appeared before magistrates in Cannock on Saturday.
It follows a robbery outside Village News on Hill Street in Essington on October 31. Cash was stolen from a security guard during the daytime robbery.
Six people, five man and a woman, were arrested on conspiracy to rob and were taken into custody for questioning on Friday.
Cannock Magistrates remanded Cotterill in custody to appear at the same court on November 29.
The remaining five people were bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date next month.
