The Hummer was targeted at about 12.30am by yobs who smashed the window and hurled the petrol bomb inside.

By the time firefighters arrived at Whetsone Lane the owner, a man in his 40s, was trying to put out the fire with a garden hose.

Crews managed to stop the blaze spreading through the whole of the car – but the interior was badly damaged.

Police are now investigating the attack.

Aldridge fire station watch commander Colin Ward said: "The car was parked part on the pavement and part on the road. We don't know why it happened – maybe it was trick or treaters."
