Winson Green prison officer in court over drugs
A woman prison officer has appeared in court charged with trying to smuggle drugs into the jail where she worked.

Julie Turton, aged 53, is accused of helping prisoner Arteef Hussain, 25, and his wife Shelah Arif, 25, take cannabis into HMP Birmingham in May this year.
Turton, of Hembs Crescent, Hamstead, Great Barr, is charged with one count of misconduct in a public office, one count of conspiring to convey cannabis and one of supplying a class B drug.
Her son Sam, 27, also of Hembs Crescent, and who also works at HMP Birmingham, has been charged with three counts of stealing jewellery from prisoners. Both will reappear in court on November 4.
