Two arrested after man seriously injured in brutal Wolverhampton attack
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man suffered serious head and leg wounds in a 'brutal attack' in Wolverhampton.
Police were called to Hawthorne Road by paramedics at 11.50pm on Friday night after a 46-year-old man was found lying in the street with multiple injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The road was cordoned off today as police and forensic investigators examined the scene.
A 44-year-old man and 20-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the attack and are being questioned by police.
Supt Tim Bacon, from Force CID, said: "This was a particularly brutal attack which has left a man critically ill in hospital."
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
