Sex-mad police officer is jailed for liaison with victim
A sex-mad policeman from Tipton who cheated on his wife with a domestic violence victim has been jailed for 15 months.
Jordan Powell, who was described as a 'sexual predator', also admitted sending another female crime victim inappropriate texts. He was eventually caught in a trap set by bosses using an undercover female officer.
Gloucester Crown Court heard the 31-year-old would call at the woman's home in the middle of the night while he was on duty.
The father of two, who was based at Kidderminster Police Station, was jailed for 15 months after he admitted three counts of misconduct in a public office.
The court heard the day before he was arrested in July last year, the constable, of Hurst Lane, sent text messages to three women asking for sex. He was said to have a 'large sexual appetite' which led him to repeatedly cheat on his wife.
Prosecutor Ms Sarah Regan said in May last year Powell sent a domestic violence victim a string of text messages and six days after he took her first statement they slept together. Judge
Jamie Tabor QC described Powell as a 'sexual predator' and said: "You were preying on those in society who you were paid to protect." Mr Kevin Baumber, defending, said Powell's wife was standing by him.
He added: "He had a large sexual appetite. He has started counselling."
