Mark Troop's laptop was seized by police after executing a warrant at his address in Archer Gardens in Cradley Heath.

Wolverhampton Crown Court was told yesterday that images ranging from level one to level four, which is at the most serious end of the scale, were discovered on the device.

Contact details were found for Troop and he was ordered to attend a police station.

Miss Alka Brigue, prosecuting, said: "He admitted during interview that he had expressed sexual interest in young boys from the age of 10 to 15 years old.

"He had gone onto to Skype and spoken to nine individuals and had various conversations where he said he found it difficult to to speak of his sexual preference," she added.

Mr Simon Rippon, defending, said: "There are a small amount of images and there's not evidence that they were distributed."

Troop, aged 40, pleaded guilty to four charges of making indecent images of children.

He was given a community order for 36 months and ordered to sign the sex offenders' list for five years.
