Christina Edkins bus stab accused case adjourned
The case of an alleged killer from Walsall, accused of murdering Halesowen schoolgirl Christina Edkins, was today adjourned.
Phillip Simelane, aged 22, is accused of stabbing 16-year-old Christina to death while she was on her way to Leasowes High School on the number nine bus on March 7.
Christina, of Ladywood, Birmingham died at the scene in Edgbaston.
Simelane, of Dalkeith Street, was due at Birmingham Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing today. However, the hearing was adjourned until October 2. Simelane did not appear in court.
When he last appeared in court he was deemed unfit to stand trial.
Christina was on her way to sit a GCSE mock exam at the school in Halesowen on the day she was killed.
Following the teenager's death her family told of their heartbreak at the loss of their 'beautiful princess'.
