£4,500 worth of cannabis found in Wolverhampton raid
Police found up to £4,500 worth of cannabis when they raided a home in Wolverhampton, a judge heard.
The half-kilogram haul was split up into 19 separate bags, the city's crown court was told.
Officers also discovered 596 tablets that dealer Keith Campbell was offering for sale as cocaine but were really for slimming, revealed prosecutor Mr Dean Kershaw.
The lawyer added: "His prime business was selling cannabis but he added on an offer of five of the pills for a tenner."
Around 75 text messages found on a phone belonging to 30-year-old Campbell made it clear he was dealing to friends and associates, the court heard.
He maintained that he had been doing this on behalf of the person to whom the drugs belonged and the prosecution were prepared to accept this explanation.
Campbell, of Glentworth Gardens, Whitmore Reans, was also in breach of the terms of a nine-month prison sentence imposed for possessing cannabis resin with intent to supply just three months before the February 21, 2012, drugs bust, the court was told.
Mr Oliver Woolhouse, defending, conceded: "There was an element of commercial gain because he was selling the cannabis partly to fund his own addiction to the drug." Campbell, who also had previous convictions for burglary, attempted robbery and possessing a firearm while committing a crime, admitted possessing drugs with intent to supply and was jailed for two years nine months.
