Post mortems have been carriedout on Jane and Ken McRay. The bodies were found yesterday at their home on Bryan Budd Close in Rowley Regis.

The 55-year-old woman was found with head injuries and her 52-year-old husband was found with neck and wrist injuries. Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, and the case had been handed to the coroner.

Mr McRay worked as an electrician while his wife was a keen gardener, neighbours said yesterday .

Shaun O'Toole, 52, who lives opposite the couple, said: "They were an ordinary couple, he used to like to keep fit.

"He would get up and jog every day before work, he went to work at around 7am and got home at roughly 5pm. I used to see him in the mornings setting his watch for a run.

"She was very house-proud, she was always doing her garden and cleaning her windows, it is just a total shock what has happened, no one knows the reason for this.

"He was an electrician. Once there was a power cut in the street and he came round asking people if they needed torches, they were kind-hearted, both of them.

"They never had any visitors which I thought was weird."

Police, were called around at 10am on Wednesday and used a battering ram to break down the door only to discover the bodies a short time later. The couple were pronounced dead at the scene.
