£10,000 digger is stolen from Stourport estate
A tractor digger worth £10,000 has been stolen from a firm on an industrial estate in Stourport.
Thieves broke into the Hope Ready Mix Concrete, on the Sandy Lane Industrial Estate, before driving out a Caterpillar loading shovel.
Firm supervisor Terry Criddle believes the tractor, which has a top speed of 8mph, was loaded onto a platform lorry before being taken off for a black market sale.
No CCTV footage of the theft was picked up, and police are now appealing for information in a bid to catch down the thieves.
Mr Criddle said: "We used the shovel to help with moving lorry deliveries of aggregate to storage tanks. Missing it has impacted us, but we're just about managing to continue as normal."
He added: "Such is the problem with the black market sale of plant machinery that any industrial yard is at threat."
