They were arrested after a white Audi RS5 car was driven into officers, pinning one against a van. It happened after police responded to a report of suspicious activity in Stoney Lane, by an alleyway leading alongside Tesco Express to Stourbridge Road, on Tuesday morning.

Today, Craig Stubbs, aged 27, of Old Fallings Crescent, Low Hill, Wolverhampton, was appearing at Kidderminster Magistrates Court charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent to resist arrest, conspiracy to commit robbery and two assaults on police officers.

He is also charged with causing criminal damage to a house and a car, and driving without insurance – all charges arising from the same incident.

Co-accused Michael Stubbs, 26, of Higham Way, Fallings Park, Wolverhampton, and Jamie Barton, 29, of Park Lane, Wolverhampton, have been charged with conspiracy to rob.
