Armed men raid West Bromwich bookmakers
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a mid-morning raid at a bookmakers in West Bromwich.
The two men, armed with a claw hammer, walked into Wilf Gilbert on Spon Lane at around 11.35am on Friday June 7 and threatened the woman behind the counter.
After stealing hundreds of pounds the men fled towards Kenrick Way, leaving the cashier shaken but uninjured.
Both raiders are described as dark-skinned black men between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall, of average build, in their early twenties, with scarves covering their lower faces.
One of the men was wearing a blue hoody with red stripes on the arms, grey coloured trousers and a white glove on one hand.
Dc Ryan Matthews, from Force CID in West Bromwich, said: "These men put the victim through a terrifying ordeal and got away with a quantity of cash.
"The robbery happened in the middle of the morning and there will have been people in the area that may have seen the offenders running away from the scene.
"I want to hear from anyone who may be able to assist us in tracing the movements of the robbers after they left the shop or anyone who knows who the men might be."
Anyone with information should call Force CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
