Walsall yob breached asbo with tirade of drunken abuse
A?yob who was banned from using obscene language and gestures after terrorising residents in Walsall has breached his anti-social behaviour order.
Nicholas Hawkins was barred from acting in a way which would cause harassment and intimidation after making the lives of families a misery.
He yesterday admitted breaking the order after threatening violence and shouting expletives in the early hours of May 7 this year. The 23-year-old accepted he was also drunk and disorderly after police were called to a three-storey block of flats in Holyhead Road, Wednesbury.
Walsall Magistrates Court was told that officers were sent to reports of people running around and kicking doors at around 12.20am. After arriving they came across Hawkins who was unsteady on his feet, slurring his speech and with glazed eyes.
Miss Rachel Smith, prosecuting, said: "They see the defendant running up and down the stairs, as they approach him they can see he is clearly intoxicated."
She said he was 'colourful' with his language as he swore at police. Mr Baldev Mehay, defending Hawkins who now lives in Station Street, Walsall, said he went to Holyhead Road due to a dispute with a man.
He said his client had been drunk and did not remember what had happened. He said since the order in 2011 he had kept out of trouble.
"It was the drink which caused him to behave the way he did. He is very sorry for the way he behaved," Mr Mehay said.
Magistrates adjourned sentencing until this afternoon for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
