Seven arrests as heroin haul is found in Wolverhampton
More than £39,000 worth of drugs including 300 wraps of heroin along with large bags of brown powder were seized during a raid on a flat in Wolverhampton.
Police say the discovery will have a big impact on the availability of class A drugs in the area.
Seven people were arrested after police swooped on a flat in Riches House, Riches Street, in the Whitmore Reans area of the city on Tuesday.
Four men aged 21, 22, 26 and 29 and three women aged 19, 22 and 26 were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.
The 21 and 29-year-old men were charged and were due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today, while the remaining five were bailed.
Sergeant Mark Platt, from Wolverhampton local policing unit, said: "This seizure will have a major impact on the availability of Class A drugs in the Whitmore Reans area.
"Drug crime can impact at the heart of the community and we will continue to target people who are involved with the possession and distribution of drugs within Wolverhampton."
