Pub landlord punched to ground by robbers who stole thousands

A pub landlord was punched to the ground and robbed of takings worth thousands of pounds during a morning raid in Wolverhampton.

The attack happened in Orchard Road, Wednesfield, at 10am yesterday as the manager of The Castle Inn Pub in Wood End Road was carrying a bag containing takings.

West Midlands Police described the suspected attacker as being black, in his early 20s and around 5ft 9ins tall.

He was wearing a grey hooded top with a baseball cap that was pulled down over his face.

Anyone with further information is urged to call police on 101.
