The 67 year-old victim was targeted in the morning as she left the post office after collecting her pension in St Paul's Road, Smethwick.

As she walked in the direction of Holly Lane, the thief cycled up behind her, grabbed at her shopping trolley and then dragged it away with him.

He stopped a short distance away and searched through the trolley and stole her handbag containing £47 cash and bank cards, before cycling off along Topsham Road towards Devonshire Road.

The cyclist who police want to speak to is described as being either Asian or light skinned black, up to 40-years-old and of medium build.

Det Con Mark Timmins, investigating the theft at around 9.25am on April 2, is encouraging witnesses to come forward.
