Fans charged over fighting after Walsall Shrewsbury derby match

Twenty-eight football supporters have been charged over trouble which flared before a derby match between Walsall and Shrewsbury.

Fighting broke out in Shrewsbury town centre before the match on October 14 last year.

A total of 15 men from the West Midlands and Shropshire were arrested.

Following and extensive investigation, 28 men and youths will now face charges of violent disorder or other public order offences.

They were charged last week and will appear before Shrewsbury magistrates on several dates, starting on April 29.
