Football hopeful admits to metal theft in Rowley Regis
A former football hopeful caught red-handed trying to steal copper wire in the Black Country has admitted theft.

Michael Barnard, who had trials with West Ham, was found in a manhole in Rowley Regis after a BT engineer went to investigate a routine line-fault.
The 20-year-old from Lower Road, Hextable, Kent, pleaded guilty to theft at Sandwell Magistrates Court yesterday.
A hearing will now be held on May 14 to sort out a dispute over the amount of damage caused before sentencing.
