Lichfield Tesco store hit by armed robbers

Robbers armed with crowbars threatened staff at a convenience store in Staffordshire before fleeing with cash.

Two men burst into Tesco Express in Netherstowe, Lichfield while a third waited outside.

All of them wore black clothing and face coverings.

One of the men who stayed outside is described as white, thin, around 5ft 4ins to 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing a black hooded top with a white stripe down each sleeve.

Two of the men were carrying crowbars but no one was injured in the robbery, at 5.30am yesterday.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or saw people acting suspiciously near the store. Statements have been taken from staff.
