Heartache as thieves in raid on Brownhills cycle shop
Burglars stole bikes and accessories worth thousands of pounds from a cycle shop. A dozen bikes, a frame and computer were taken during the break-in.
The raiders also stole bike accessories after smashing their way into cabinets in the ChaseWaterCycle shop at Chasewater Country Park, Brownhills, in the early hours of last Thursday.
Lesley Knowles, who set the firm up three years ago with her husband Richard, today made an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Mrs Knowles said: "At 6.30am on the day it happened, Richard received the police phone call. A dog walker had reported it to the police. We are gutted."
The bikes taken from the shop, which hires and sells custom-made cycles, include a blue and red Genesis Flyer, light grey Genesis Abyss and dark grey Genesis Alpitude.
Along with other accessories, a grey HP standalone computer was also taken.
Mrs Knowles added: "I only ever brought it into the shop as a standby to help customers to order their items. It's totally worthless to anyone else but of great value to me as it had photographs of my family on it."
Police are reviewing CCTV footage and say the items have been valued at about £15,000.
Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
