Four women have complained about a motorist who has parked up at locations in Cannock, Hednesford, Heath Hayes and the Landywood area of Great Wyrley.

He asked one woman to get into the car but she refused and walked away. Police say the approaches may be linked.

Ch Insp Carl Ratcliffe said today: "Staffordshire Police is currently investigating a number of reports concerning a suspicious vehicle. Four reports were received from young women. The reports refer to a man sitting in a car that was parked up at various locations.

"On one occasion the man has asked the woman to get in the car. The woman did the right thing by not talking to him and walking off.

"If you're approached in a similar way, use your discretion and don't talk to strangers."

Cannock Chase Council has also received the reports, and says the driver has been spotted at around 7.45am or between 5-9pm.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
