Men flee scene as car veers off road in Wombourne
A car crashed into the front garden of a house in South Staffordshire, before the two men inside fled the scene.
Police were today hunting the two men who fled after the crash in Wombourne.
The men, who were not injured, ran away after the grey Vauxhall Astra left the road and came to stop on the lawn of a home in Mill Lane, Wombourne, at 8.50pm last night.
Officers in patrol cars carried out a search of the surrounding area for more than an hour, with help from the police helicopter, but the pair had gone into hiding.
Staffordshire Police spokeswoman Sarah Davidson said the car was not believed to have been stolen.
"The search proved negative and inquiries are ongoing to trace the men," she said.
