A £21,000 cannabis factory was found by police officers in a raid in Darlaston.

Around 70 plants were discovered at a flat in Park Street yesterday. A 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of producing Class B drugs and was released on bail pending further inquiries.

The plants, most between two-and-a-half and three feet high, were found in two bedrooms. A sophisticated hydroponic set-up was seized along with the plants.

Three police officers and two police community support officers swooped on the address at 8.20am and forced entry to get inside.

A specialist cannabis removal squad was also involved in the raid. Pc Stewart James, from the Willenhall and Darlaston priority team, said police had acted on a tip-off.

"This shows officers do act on the information supplied to us, he said.
