Higgs & Sons, based on the Waterfront Business Park in Brierley Hill, is one of three legal service providers in contention for the property law firm of the year accolade at the Insider West Midlands Property Awards.

It is the third consecutive year Higgs & Sons has made the shortlist for the award.

An experienced team of 26 specialises in advice on commercial and residential property deals to a range of clients, from sole traders to major national corporations.

Over the 12-month period up to June, the property team advised on property transactions with an aggregate value in excess of £250 million.

Amongst the key clients Higgs & Sons represent are Urban Splash, London & Cambridge Properties and La Maison Bleue.

Cherry Elliott, head of property at Higgs & Sons, said: “The Insider West Midlands Property Awards is a showcase of major commercial property deals in the region and we are delighted to once again be in the running.

“It’s our third year on the shortlist and that in itself is an achievement but we are extremely hopeful that the hard work and commitment of our talented team will be rewarded.

“Like all businesses, it’s been an extremely challenging year but the team has pulled together to deliver outstanding results and ensure it has remained business as usual for our clients as we have continued to support them throughout.

“Our residential development team has remained busy despite lockdown, while our construction offering has continued to grow.

“In addition, our commercial development team continue to work on a range of deals of national and local significance, while the core property team has extended its large portfolio client base with several new local and national clients.”

Higgs & Sons is joined on the shortlist by Gowling WLG and Shakespeare Martineau. The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on March 4.
