PR agency wins new client alongside CMS accreditation
A Birmingham public relations agency has brought a major new client on board and renewed its quality standards accreditation as it continues an extended period of growth.
Reeves PR, which provides social media and video production services alongside traditional public relations, has been appointed by Willenhall-based Fortel Group to handle press and media, social media support and a brand refresh for its group companies, including Fortel, Sky Blue Solutions and Nexus.
Fortel is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of labour to the construction industry, providing more than 2,000 workers at over 130 locations, while Sky Blue Solutions focuses on white-collar and rail labour supply and Nexus provides facilities management services such as security and environmental hygiene.
The appointment coincides with Reeves’ renewal of its CMS accreditation through industry body the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA).
Described within the industry as the hallmark of PR excellence, CMS combines elements of ‘ISO9001’ and ‘Investors in People’ with criteria specific to a PR and communications consultancy.
The Colmore Row based agency is pressing ahead with growth plans as it returns to full capacity following lockdown, having agreed terms with Fortel and acquired CMS accreditation just prior.
Clive Reeves, managing director at Reeves PR, said: “This has clearly been a difficult period for a lot of businesses across the UK but we are now looking ahead to a positive future.
“We are hoping to achieve great things with Fortel, helping the company grow its brand identity and become recognised as a leading voice within its sector.
“Achieving CMS accreditation is a big step forward for us as a company. We had actually gone through the process 10 years ago and clearly so much has changed since then.
“When you take a close look at your whole business process it can be a little bit daunting, but we learned the first time that it’s not about complying with someone else’s predetermined procedures, it’s about demonstrating that you have properly thought through and documented your own.”
According to the PRCA’s register, there are only six agencies with offices in the Midlands accredited to the CMS Standard and none in Newcastle upon Tyne where Reeves has recently opened a new office.
Reeves PR works in a variety of business sectors, with previous experience in the construction sector helping towards the acquisition of Fortel as a client.
Fortel chief executive Sat Nijjer said: “We are an ambitious group of businesses with a core social ethos and have plans to really expand and grow over the next few years.
“Appointing a specialist PR agency is something that we have been looking at for a little while and now felt like the right time given our innovative growth plans.
“We are looking forward to working with Reeves PR on our brands and sharing our expertise far and wide.”
