The Black Country Chamber of Commerce has just updated its corona virus briefing paper that it provides to members.

Corin Crane, chamber chief executive, said: "We are being issued with advice from the Government and health organisations in terms of what behaviours to adopt in ways to prevent the spread of the virus.

"The Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said the business community should be vigilant and follow the guidance in terms of washing hands and taking care of hygiene.

"Businesses must use the advice and work to reduce any risk. They need to continue to monitor risks to their employees, facilitate their supply chains and be prepared to act quickly should the country face a major outbreak. They need to be ready with risk assessments completed and vulnerabilities identified within their organisation.

“Businesses must also think about the implications of their office needing to be closed for two weeks or more. It might be worth making sure that everyone who needs remote access has it. It’s important that if any of your staff can work remotely, you have them test their remote connectivity."
