Neil Lloyd, sales director for FBC Manby Bowdler, was handed the prestigious national award for Outstanding Individual Contribution at the 2018 LawNet awards.

Neil, who has been instrumental in driving growth and positive change at the firm over the last three years, fought off competition from two other nominees to win the accolade.

He said he was delighted to receive the award but also praised the hard work of colleagues at the firm.

“I am humbled to have been recognised at this year’s LawNet awards and I’m overwhelmed somewhat by the judge’s comments but our achievements at FBC Manby Bowdler are very much a team effort and this award recognises their hard work just as much as my own.”

Judges of the award described Neil as an ‘outstanding ambassador’ for the firm and an ‘exemplar’ for what was being achieved across the network.

The judge said: “Our winner’s contribution has been at an exceptional level, reaching into every aspect of their firm – introducing new technologies, management systems and structure, reshaping the business and increasing turnover and profit.

“Helping to stimulate organic growth and expand work types, using commercial sales skills and innovative people management initiatives. This pioneering approach has seen our winner called on to advise other law firms.”

Neil was nominated for the award by FBC Manby Bowdler Managing Partner Kim Carr. She said since joining the firm in 2015 with a brief to drive new business growth, Neil had had a major impact.

LawNet is a nationwide network of more than 70 legal firms providing support across a variety of sectors including learning and development and practice support.

The awards take place at the organisation’s annual conference.

FBC Manby Bowdler is one of the region’s leading independent law firms. It employs more than 200 staff at offices in Wolverhampton, Willenhall, Shrewsbury, Telford, Bridgnorth, Redditch and Church Stretton.
