Electrical project scoops national recognition
A leading electrical and mechanical firm in the West Midlands has been recognised for the second year in a row at a prestigious national awards ceremony.
Orton Group, based in Wombourne, picked up the top award in the Electrical Project of the Year category at the Electrical Industry Awards for its comprehensive work at the Penzance Long Rock Depot redevelopment, its biggest project to-date.
The 26th Electrical Industry Awards took place in the Palace Suite at the Royal Garden Hotel in London, and saw hundreds of guests gathered to celebrate the very best from across the electrical industry.
Judges praised the company’s work on the redevelopment of the Penzance Long Rock Depot, which spanned 18 months and completed in December 2017.
The £6million electrical project involved extensive planning and coordination by Orton Group staff to remain on time and on budget, as well as create innovative solutions throughout to speed the project up by 12 weeks, all whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding areas.
Andrew Lowe, managing director of Orton Group, explained: “We’re absolutely honoured to have won the Electrical Project of the Year for this project, which was undoubtedly the biggest and most complex that we’ve done as a team in our 27 year history.”
