The effort from Kingswinford-based JJX hit top gear last month, as September marks the society's Memory Walk season.

With a fleet consisting of five trailers, three rigid lorries and three Sprinter vans, JJX aims to ensure the Alzheimer’s Society’s 'powerful words' campaign is getting maximum exposure on local and national roads.

JJX logistics is a Black Country born company and owner John Donovan says he chose Alzheimer’s Society as the company's charity of choice as it is "close to home". JJX run events throughout the year and offers support to raise much-needed funds to find a cure for dementia.

Since 2015 more than £6,400 has been raised by JJX from charity football matches held at Wolverhampton Wanderers and also through a 'text to donate' call to action on its fleet of trucks.

Emma Butler, from the society, said: “Alzheimer’s Society has a significant role to play in supporting not only those with dementia but also their families and carers. We rely on the generosity of individuals and companies like JJX Logistics to enable our charity to continue its work. The support from JJX is fantastic, not only raising money but also helping us in our aim to raise awareness about dementia and we are really grateful for their support. “

Alzheimer’s Society research shows that 850,000 people in the UK have a form of dementia. In less than ten years a million people will be living with dementia. This will soar to two million people by 2051.

225,000 will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes. Currently it is estimated that dementia costs the UK economy over £26 billion per year – the equivalent of more than £30,000 per person with dementia.
