Global premium kebab retailer GDK is opening a new outlet at 3C Astle Park in West Bromwich after undertaking a circa £250,000 fit out of the new restaurant.

The new venture is expected to create around 12 jobs.

GDK opened its first outlet in Berlin in 1989 and is now trading from more than 50 sites worldwide. The brand is growing rapidly in the UK with 20 restaurants already trading and a 15 further locations under offer. GDK has signed a 15-year lease.

West Bromwich-based Bond Wolfe's commercial property agent Richard Horwell said: “There is plenty of competition when it comes to food establishments in West Bromwich High Street, however, as the UK’s first quality kebab restaurant I am sure GDK will be a hit in West Bromwich.”

A new Tax Assist Accountants franchise has been opened at 452 High Street, West Bromwich, by Jas Babra, who has taken the unit on a five- year lease at £8,000 a year.

Mr Horwell said: “We identified the ideal location for him and had agreed terms with the landlord within days. Jas is keen to complete his fit out as soon as possible and we wish him well when the new business opens.”

A new business dedicated to piercings has been opened by Hannah Brough at 11 Bridge Street, Walsall. She has signed a five-year lease at £12,000 per annum.

Mr Horwell said: “Hannah previously operated within the well known tattoo artists Vivid Ink who are located next door, but she has now decided to expand her skills into her own business and open a shop dedicated to piercings on Bridge Street.”

Bond Wolfe managing partner James Mattin said:” In a week that saw the UK’s unemployment rate hit its lowest figure for 40 years, and in a month that is traditionally quiet for property deals, it is very refreshing to see so much activity continuing in the Black Country.”
