Profits grow for E&S's top business

The Express & Star's newly-crowned business of the year saw revenue and profits grow strongly in its latest financial year.

Wolverhampton-based Pallet-Track's turnover was up from £77.5 million to £83.1m for the year to the end of January and pre-tax profit rose from £2.8m to £3.3m helped by a growing number of pallets being transported around the UK and abroad.

The palletise freight network company, which has its headquarters at Titan Distribution Centre, Millfields Road, Ettingshall, saw hub revenue rise from £12.8m to £13.7m and network deliver revenue grow 7.4 per cent to £69.4m.

During the year the company opened a northern hub and stepped up investment in staff and services to support the growth of the network.

The directors say it is in a strong financial position and plan to continue to invest in the development of Pallet-Track which employed 129 at the end of the financial year.
